The Screening & Artists’ Talk will complement the online exhibition and explore the nature of photography in experimental videos. The everyday, the overlooked, the awareness of passing time, the self and the other, the familiar are all shared themes in these works.
After the screening, artists Vron Harris, Tom Robinson, Yin-Ling Chen and Esther Johnson will talk about what inspires their practices, why photography and why using it (or its idiom) to create moving images. Do they consciously try to engage with the viewer? How do they do it?
This will be an informal talk, open to questions and debate with the audience. The talk will be followed by a live band for everybody to join!
